~ Learning Goals ~ The students will develop skills in sculpture. The students will learn that sculpture can be made in a variety of ways. The students will learn about different ways paper can be manipulated. The students will gain experience in collaboration. Recreate paper sculptures and learn the basics of this versatile medium. Transform a flat sheet of paper into a finished sculpture.

Students will create a fictional Facebook page about one of the characters from Macbeth. On their Facebook page, students will include: friends of their character; provide status updates that chronologically depict a timeline of events from the play; use quotes from the text as status updates/ wall posts and commentary to facilitate inter-character communication; use graphics, pictures and/or video with captions to highlight character interests, activities, motivations, etc.

Students will create a comic strip about a scene from the play Macbeth

Create newspaper articles for the following characters from Macbeth that might be found in the Obituary section of the newspaper.: Macbeth, Banquo, Lady Macbeth and Duncan.

Used for grading poems written by students. Standard 6: Students read, write, and view texts to examine the choices artists make and to reflect on how their choices affect their audiences. Standard 1: Students use the writing process to produce clear responses to writing tasks that fulfill a variety of purposes and address a variety of audiences.

Rubric for research and group work on Macbeth Playbill and Program Project

Construct a board game that follows Macbeth's journey from the beginning to the end of the eplay. All obstacles should be included. Directions for the game should be included.

Students will write a letter to the author of the book the student just completed. Students will share their connections, observations, and questions with the author. The completed letter should be typed neatly on 8 1/2 x 11" paper or written neatly on stationary that you design. Students should write a draft, revise it, then write a final copy of their letter
