In addition to the home page which will be all about the student, a page will be assigned to the Themes we cover throughout the year. These include: 1. Beauty and Aesthetics 2. Contemporary Life 3. Families and Communities 4.Global Challenges 5. Personal and Public Identities 6. Science and Technology Websites will also be required to include a Blog page in which students will blog weekly about current events.

The State Tourism Director wants to attract more Spanish speaking tourism to the great state of West Virginia. Because of this, she has reached out to Spanish students state wide to help develop a great travel brochure in Spanish. Create a travel brochure in Spanish. You will be graded using this rubric. Keep in mind that most weight will be given to how you use the whole Spanish language in your writing. Translation sites and apps are absolutely prohibited.

5 rubric Skit Peformance Rubric       popup preview  
This rubric is designed for a Spanish 1 oral presentation in which they will be presenting a skit in Spanish. The skit is based off the unit's vocabulary of talking about vocabulary about the house and chores and the use of the progressive covered in unit 6. Students will start a conversation in which they complain about all their chores as they become acquainted with Spanish speaking exchange students.

In groups of 2, you will research a specific Spanish speaking country and create a video about travel to that country. Your will write about what you "did" on vacation. You will be graded on your use of the past tense. The video should be no more than 3 minutes long and student images should not be part of the video.

You will work in groups to create a travel brochure for destination in a Spanish speaking country. You will act as travel agents/travelers and use the brochure to suggest/question an itinerary with flight information, lodging information, location and description,and typical foods. You will video tape your presentation. Include information about fun things to do, typical weather and temperatures and things to pack. Include a legend or myth associated with the country/culture.
