Critical thinking involves issues, ideas, artifacts, and events before forming an opinion or conclusion. This rubric is designed to be transdisciplinary for all content areas to use inquiry and analysis. Successful critical thinkers need to apply those habits in various situations throughout life.This rubric is designed for use with many different types of assignments on analyses of text, data, or issues.

Students will be in groups and create an obstacle course in which the whole class or a small group participate and which demonstrate activities that promote safety and must include a written piece on the concepts of physics, motion and/or gravity as learned from their grade level science curriculum. The course designed must follow school rules as far as appropriateness and safety.

Gifted students will work in small groups to design a poster and advertise a product or service using the mythology theme. The poster needs to contain important information related to Mythology. You will create pictures and use mythology vocabulary in a poster displaying a mythological creature or god/goddess.

Student will create a travel brochure of an imiginary trip to an ancient civilization. They will research their ancient civilization to learn historical, cultural, political, and economic information about their ancient civilization. PS involves designing, evaluating/implementing strategies for open-ended questions/desired goal. Applies to all subjects for differentiation among learners, yet used to determine how well students use their abilities to think through problems and reach solutions. Measures the quality of a process rather than the end product. Work samples need to include evidence of PS process (reflections on process; steps in PB learning assignment; record of think-aloud protocol while solving a problem).

Your assignment is to design an interactive and information tech based piece based on a student selected Earth Day topic which has a guiding question to drive the student's learning and planning of the project. Any points in the Beyond Column is Extra Credit.
