Submit one 3-5 page typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font following MLA guidelines. Include a bibliography citing at least 3 resources used researching the paper. You are encouraged to interject your personal opinion into this paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography. Students will research an endangered species and create a multi-media presentation (Prezi, Powerpoint, or Haiku Deck) to present their research to the class.

Prepare and present an 10-15 minute group presentation that is creative, topical, & related to the endangered specie chosen to research; Should be creative, interesting, & professional. Visuals encouraged but optional. Organization & content graded as a group; language & delivery graded individually.

General group work peer evaluation form Students will complete this evaluation about their partner/group mates & one about themselves to show the instructor how well each member participated in the accomplishment of their group task.

Choose an important character. How would you describe the character using physical and personality (character) traits. What is your reasoning for choosing these traits based on evidence from the novel?

Create a plot diagram for the important events in your book.

Using the nonfiction book you read for your PreAP summer reading assignment, choose to create one of the following to demonstrate your thorough understanding of the text: mobile, collage, board or card game, illustrated timeline, or a detailed map. The project you choose needs to be creative, thorough, and have a "finished" look. (No hasty scribbles on notebook paper will be acceptable.) Your project must be complete and ready for presentation by the due date. Have fun!

Create a board game that reviews the academic content learned in ELA this year. You must create a rules page (how to play the game) that describes how to play and each detail of the game. The game board needs to be creative, with a game name, and all of the materials to play the game must be included. Fact cards must be printed by hand or typed, as well as other card piles you create. Your game board must be complete and ready for presentation and play time by the due date. Have fun!

Students are to create a presentation using an iPad application that is not MS Powerpoint (may use SlideIdea, Haiku Deck, Slide Shark, Keynote, etc). They selected a group that has significance in the world and will present that group to their peers.
