The Giver Character Map
Choose at least 5 characters to find or draw pictures of what you think the characters would look like based on the novel. Give a physical description of each. You may have to guess. Theme Collage
Students will use themes from THE GIVER (utopia/dystopia, sameness, memories/history, coming of age, rules, family, friendship) to create a collage. The images that students choose to symbolize each theme should fold up, and an explanation of how each theme was developed in the story should be underneath. Students should use examples from the text to support paragraphs.

Book Cover
Design a New Book Cover: Use your knowledge of the story and characters to create a new book cover you think would entice readers to pick up this book and read it.
