Students will create a reproduction of painting completed by an artist of their choice, in acrylic paint. Students will demonstrate their knowledge of acrylic paint techniques and material care. Students will demonstrate an ability to creatively address the challenge of using a different medium and techniques to reproduce an existing art piece..

Students will create an India Ink Handscape drawing using all India Ink techniques learned in class; line, stipple, crosshatch, resist, dry brush, line into wet, stipple into wet, graded wash. Students will use techniques learned in class to draw 5 - 6 sketches of their hand in different positions. Students will use their hand sketches to create an interesting landscape in which their hands become the objects, such as animals, creatures, beings and/or are incorporated into the background.

Students will create a reproduction of a a Group of 7 painting, in water colour. Students will demonstrate water-colour painting techniques and material care. Students will demonstrate an ability to creatively address the challenge of using a different medium and techniques to reproduce an existing art piece done in oils.

The student will create an original building with interesting architectural features using three point perspective.

Students are introduced to the concept of line as an Element of Design. Students create their own line drawing that makes use of different types of lines, colour, balance, movement and harmony (unity)
