The Story of a Fossil

Genetic Engineering Public Service Announcement
Have you ever felt so concerned about something you wanted to shout it from the rooftops? A PSA, or Public Service Announcement allows you to do just that! In this activity, you will work in groups to write a PSA from the perspective of someone whose opinion matters! A public service announcement (PSA) are messages in the public interest disseminated by the media without charge, with the objective of raising awareness, changing public attitudes and behavior towards a social issue.

The student will compare and contrast the book Where the Red Fern Grows to the movie of the same name. In preparation for this assignment, the student will have had instruction in the writing process, sentence structure, capitalization, end marks, specific vocabulary words, read the book and viewed the movie.

Class Participation Grade

Fantasy Diorama-6th grade
This rubric will assist in assessing a fiction report on a fantasy. The students will read and choose a selected book on a fantasy. They are then to complete a final presentation which will include a shoe box book report and written work about the book.
