Research Presentation
This research presentation is to help you develop and practice your research and oral speaking skills. You will practice researching and evaluating effective sources using the school library search tools, and then create and deliver a short presentation using Google Slides in front of the class.

Movie Trailer Project
Students are to create a movie trailer, advertising the "book". They will be evaluated by said students at a Movie Trailer Marathon, in which the students vote for their favorite trailer. The teacher will asses their trailer based on the below criteria.

Book Trailer Guided Reading Project
Students are to create a movie trailer for their Guided Reading book. The book should engage viewers and make the viewers WANT to read the book. Requirements include 1-3 minutes of video, music, titles, and some editing. Student's video MUST be relevant to the book.

Reading Response Journal
Reading Response Journal : Students are required to keep a literary response journal of 3 journal entries per week. Students had a choice of several response starters.

Newspaper Sports Article Summary
Find a Current sports related article in the local newspaper. Cut out the article from the newspaper. Write a 1 page summary on the article including WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN. The summary should include at least three paragraphs. You should end your summary by writing at least one paragraph giving your personal opinions, thoughts, feelings about the information in the article and how you can relate the article to physical education and exercise. Your summary should be typed or neatly written and stapled or clipped to the article. Make sure your name and class period is on your summary. This assignment is worth 10 points, which were missed on the day of class you were absent or unable to participate in the Physical Education class.

Newspaper Article
Write a newspaper article for a recent event that has occurred locally, nationally or world-wide. Your article should show you understand the event(s) that took place, who was involved and demonstrate your knowledge of the components of a newspaper article. You may include a picture/chart to enhance your article, but it is to be a minor part of your article. Remember - "just the facts!" Must be YOUR ORIGINAL WORK.
