Include a works cited page citing at least 3 resources used researching the paper, using quotes from all 3 sources. Sources should include a journal article, newspaper, and other books. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography.

The purpose of this rubric is to allow the student to know what the expectations are for writing this comparing/contrasting paragraph. This rubric will help me, the teacher, to assess student writing and inform further instruction.The student will compare and contrast, The Outsiders book to the movie.

Scoring Rubric

Student will write a paragraph about a current news event from CNN News. If student uses additional resources for written response, the source must be cited below the paragraph. Response paragraphs are due by 8pm on Tuesdays.
