Students will create a commercial advertising a position (job) in technical theatre. Students will include a detailed job description as well as job requirements. Students may present examples of the job requirements. Students should be creative and energetic. The commercial should be at least 90 seconds long.

Students will work in a small group to create and perform a scene using mime. They will be expected to demonstrate the use of story structure, character and several mime illusions during their performance. Each member of the group is required to include these mime illusions: a wall, ladder, pulling a "rope" and throwing an object...other illusions, of course, may be included.

Students will use movement, voice and writing to communicate ideas and feelings and will apply appropriate vocal elements. They will understand how to read and write scripts. They will also understand how to apply the major technical theatre elements such as costumes, sets, and props to support and enhance a theatrical production. This will be done by creating original characters and a script complete with vocal elements, sound effects, props and scenery and present it as a puppet show.
