A Model Planet in Our Solar System
Students will take their knowledge of our solar system and create a model of the planets. The planets should be relatively proportioned and clearly labeled in some way. Reason: how students view the solar system as well as showcase their creativity, use of color, and to get creative while learning. Each student will have to present their project to the class and come prepared to discuss how their planet model was created and be able to tell facts about the planet. Worth: 18 points.

Personal Narrative Project - The Self-Collage
Self Collage: Create a collage using poster that represents who you are as a person and where you are from. This collage should consist of a wide variety of images that tell who you are, where you are from, and what is important to you. The collage should contain words that describe who you are. Words may be hand-written or glued. You will present this poster and display this. Collage is the first part of the comprehension phase of our current story: "Me and Uncle Romie."

Plastic straw Bridge
Arch or beam bridge to be made out of plastic straws, toothpicks, and tape. Width must be 25 cm. The bridge must support a toy car. The car can not fall off the bridge and the bridge must not collapse. The bridge must be able withstand a minimum weight of a small toy car without failing or sagging more than five cm.
