Hotel Transylvania Movie Response

Students were asked to create a flag that represents them. While learning about identity and the Canadian Flag, the students learned about how the different parts of the flag have symbolic meaning. Using this knowledge, they were required to add different components that are symbolic of them in a certain way.

2016 Olympic Sport Poster and Presentation
Students research a 2016 Olympic sport and create a poster and presentation to show what they have learned. Project must include: sport title, how it is done, equipment needed, uniform worn, how it is judged, exact time and location of competition, history of sport, biography of athlete competing in the Olympics in that sport, picture/video of the sport, picture of the competitor, Olympic rings,mascot of games and Rio's flag.

Animal Adaptations: Designer Hybrid Project
Students will write an animal adaptations description and build an adapted animal for final project of science unit. Included will be a brainstorming poster with illustration of animal and important facts about animal. Also included will be a rough draft of write-up describing the animals environment and adaptations for survival, and a final draft of the write-up with correct spelling, capitalizations, etc.

Creating and Presenting: Students will be tasked with performing a fairy tale of their choice in groups. Students will write a script, memorize lines, and perform their chosen tale in front of the class. Some students may also want to film their performance and show the resulting footage instead.

FNMI Fur Trade Artifact
Students are to create an artifact that will depict an aspect of First Nations or European culture and how it relates to the fur trade. The project is to include a visual display board and written component. Students are encouraged to use creativity when completing the artifact. A brief written description should accompany the artifact and explain the relevance of this item to the Fur trade or First Nations. Students present project to classmates for speaking standards

A Persuasive Essay
Write a persuasive argument about the 'Best Region in Canada. The persuasive essay must contain 1 introduction paragraph, 3 developed supporting paragraphs, and 1 concluding paragraph. You should incorporate the parts of a PW piece, persuasive techniques, and persuasive language in your writing. Use the examples and guidelines we discussed. The steps to persuasive writing should be followed.
