Notebooks will be checked at Week 8 and Week 16. This is part of your major assessment gradee. Notebook grading is based on organization, neatness, and accuracy/appropriate content. This is a highly weighted assessment that places your work habits and organizational skills in high priority. Students that do not provide a notebook on the day it is due will receive an automatic 0 for the assignment.

In this project you will be researching a volcano and making a poster of your findings. Your poster will include information, and pictures. Upon the completion of the poster you will build a scale model of the volcano. The poster is an individual assignment only. The model will be built as a group.

The science notebook check is a tool for students to stay organized in the class. The science notebook is a weekly grade.

Write a short story describing what would happen if you really could travel to the center of the Earth. Include some explanation of how you are able to withstand the blistering temperatures and why you are on this journey. Most of the story should consist of describing what you see and feel as you travel from the Earth's crust to the inner core. Describe the composition, texture, appearance, temperature, and other characteristics of each layer.

Your job is to create a travel brochure about the planet of your choice that would convince others to travel to your planet in the Solar System. You MUST include the required elements in your brochure about your planet. Be creative!
