This Rubric is for general participation in art class.

Students create handbuilt projects in ceramics

10 pictures for each event

Student collaboratively design and paint a mural in their school facility appropriate for their audience and reflective of their own experiences.

Using Photoshop to produce a surrealistic composition from a folder of instructor provided images, students apply knowledge of selections, masking, image adjustments, layer blending modes, layer effects, adjustment layers and associated techniques. The goal is to use the tools and techniques to create a design that communicates a particular theme or message defined by the assignment criteria.

If using paint- student was to neatly paint their project in an attractive manner with a paintbrush and select attractive colors. If using glaze-Student was to glaze neatly according to directions. 3-4 layers of same colored glaze were to be neatly applied to all surfaces but the bottom. Bottom was not to have any glaze on it. Of painting, color os to be neatly applied .

Student will create a design that demonstrates several requested elements of art (line, shape, color, space, form, space , and texture) as described on handout in a specified rectangle. The design should demonstrate an understanding of the elements of art. The principles of unity and emphasis will also be introduced. Various media are used to practice skills. Students are encouraged to incorporate symbols and elements that reflect their personality and interests.

The Advanced Placement Studio Art class will compile 5 breadth, 12 concentration pieces and 12 breadth pieces on the AP board site and submit for review.
