In this project students will be assigned chapters of vocabulary to report on by creating a collage, mobile, or pop-up book displaying the words, definitions and extras to make them memorable.

The acrostic poem will be graded on creativity, spelling, and completion. Students were to create an acrostic poem for the key term on project handout. The poems must reflect the definition for the term or explain the person.

Students will create a project using traditional clothing garments (and accessories) given culture on the project handout. The written portion should include a description of history and function of the garment, along with who would wear it. The visual presentation must also have pictures of authentic garments (NOT COSTUMES). The video must thoroughly explain how to wear the garment.

Student will choose a food item for their research based on the handout directions. 1. Students will find a recipe for a food item, to be used and then included in their write up. 2. Students will write a minimum of one paragraph (over 6 sentences) about the history and/or important cultural facts about the chosen food item. 3. Students will create a poster board that includes step 1 and 2 along with a visual demonstration of the German food item. Due date: 05/23/2014

The students will work on their own to put together a poster for display. The poster will contain relevant information directly related to the topic selected by the student. The poster should have areas segmented that directly reflect the outline created by the student, including pictures. The poster will be designed on either poster board (full-sized poster board). Be prepared to answer questions or present information.

Create a board game that utilizes vocabulary, concepts and gifted outcomes. You must create a rules that explains how to play the game. The game board needs to be creative, with a game name, and all of the materials to play the game must be included. Questions must be printed by hand or typed. Your game board must be complete and ready for playing on due date. Do not copy an existing commercial board game. Have fun!

Construct a realistic and accurate representation of an artifact. Written explanation about the piece must be included.

Students are to create a timeline. They must include at least 5 historical events. An acceptable timeline will include descriptions about why the date is important, and 5 3-D objects that represent the historical dates.

Students create Three Facts and a Fib about topic listed by instructor. Each of the facts should be written clearly & neatly & have a valid, reliable resource to back them up. Each Fib needs to NOT be obvious, and on a separate sheet contain a paragraph explaining why the statement is false.

You are to write a poem or song (of any genre including rap) that reflects the concepts studied in this chapter. Below are some prompts that you may wish to refer to in your song or poem. You should research the issue you will write about and may wish to include facts or statistics to emphasize your message. Please ensure that there is no swearing in the song.

Students will create a short video skit that will be 2 to 4 minutes in length. Skit must be completely school appropriate and no more than two people can receive credit for the video. A script or storyboard must be turned in with the skit video. Must contain props/costumes/backgrounds that are appropriate for the skit.

Students will create an alphabet book. Each letter will be represented with a description & picture of something that starts with the corresponding letter.

Imagine you are a journalist. Create a newspaper article as if you were living during this time period. You might want to consider the different aspects we have learned about. Make sure to include a picture & caption like traditional front page news articles. Be as creative as possible when putting together your newspaper article, but use the criteria as a checklist to help you to stay on task during the course of this assignment.

On a grid handout create your own crossword puzzle using 15 words from a vocabulary list. Use definitions or sentences as hints for your crossword and identify them as “across” and “down” hints. Make sure you have identified both the direction and number for the word you are defining. Include a key with hints. It is very important that your teacher can complete the puzzle.

Students must build 10+ trading cards from list of people or topics given to them by teacher.
