This rubric will measure the abilities of students to thread a sewing machine and bobbin, use the sewing machine properly and complete 5 straight stitches, 4 corners, 2 curves, 2 seams

Students will create a poster advertisement using persuasive details and emotional appeals; complete with logo and slogan. Students also will provide a reflection, stating their emotional appeals and how the product came to be. Advertisement should be for an original product (in other words, don't draw an ad for the latest Nike style...). Choose HOW you want to market it and WHO you want to sell it to. Decide how best you can persuade those buyers to purchase your product.

Life Skills cooking rubric

Prepare an appetizer, entrée, and an dessert each must use one of the special ingredients. You will have 45 minutes to COOK! Clean your station as you go!

This rubric will measure the abilities of students to thread a sewing machine and bobbin, use the sewing machine properly, complete a sewing project by hand stitching the remaining hole and completing first semester sewing projects.

hand sewing techniques - Sew on button, French Knot, Whip, Running, Back and Blanket, and Hem Stitches. Samples are to be completed prior to the start of your simple sewing project.

The students will work on their own to put together a poster for display. The poster will compare and contrast one healthy meal from a fast food restaurant and one unhealthy meal from a fast food restaurant.
