This is the first day in-class writing sample used to help identify areas of specific need for students.

2 rubric Multiucutural Research Project       popup preview  
Students will chose a fiction novel about a current muticultural theme/character to read. Students will write a complete summary of the novel chosen to be presented to teacher for draft review. Students will chose particular passages from the summary, in accordance with teacher suggestion, to display on final presentation. Students will then reasearch actual confict/topic of fictional novel. Passages and research will be combined together in a final presentation of work for class on topic.

Students will choose a fictional novel based on a current multicultural theme/character. Students will produce a summary of the novel for teacher review. Students will then reseacrh the conflict. Students will then present a combination of the agreed upon portions of the summary, and the researched information.

4 rubric Notebooks       popup preview  
Notebooks are a daily record of classroom participation and activity. Students are respoonsible to copy and carry all notes written on board, all handouts, and any other materials required by the teacher throughout the duration of any given semester unless otherwise specified. This will be assessed without notice during any given class in accordance with this rubric.

Students will choose a fictional book to read based on a multicultural theme/character. Students will reserach the culture of the theme/character in their book. Students present a poster demonstrating the actual conflict within the theme/character's life along with a presentation of the fictional depiction from their book.
