Students will create various geometric triangles, (on top of squares) with varying degrees of angles. Students will also create circles with varying degrees of a circle, (360, 180, 90, 45, along with 3 in between each of the designated degrees). These various degrees and triangles will all be created of construction paper, glued to a contrasting color of construction paper. When completed, all of the geometric degrees and triangles will be laid out in a pattern and glued to 4 large sections of construction paper. All of this is then glued to a large section of butcher paper, creating a unified paper quilt of various degrees and triangles.

4 rubric Triptychs-to (re)tell a story       popup preview  
You will create a triptych (3 paneled) drawing or painting (with doors) that tell (or retell) 3 parts of a story. Your first panel should tell of the beginning, the middle panel should tell of the middle of the story, and the third panel should tell of the ending. Your doors should connect with the whole story in some way.

Students must create a map of a city. The map must include a city name, two examples of parallel lines, 1 example of perpendicular lines, 5 polygons (using a variety of), and 2 different types of triangles, 1 trapezoid and 1 parallelagram, illustrated (using ruler and protractor) and colored. Finished product will be discussed (with shapes and angles) during a critique.
