The Independent Lower School Auditions
This Rubric is used to score the talent show contestants' auditions.

Song Review
The reporter will write a review for a song. The review must entice the reader to listen to the song, even if the review is mixed or negative.

Effect of Histical events on Music, or Vice Versa
The student will hypothesize the relationship between a researched historical event and the "hallmark" classifiers of their period of music study. This should use the traditional wiki response format of: -thesis statement -at least 2 examples of support for the thesis -conclusion of ideas

Composer Research Project
The student will individually demonstrate understanding through research of a selected composer's life and works. This information will be added to the Music History time line. Also, as a group students will compile their information into a slide show for their Musical Period.

Historical Events Time Line for a Musical Period
The student will demonstrate an understanding of 2 historical events during a specific musical period. A brief paragraph must be written for each event, to be displayed on a time line created by the student's group. On the time line each year will be represented by 1/4 of an inch.
