Students are to research the hybrid vehicle technology. They may research this technology using the internet or any other resources they can find. They are to choose a hybrid vehicle that they will try to sell to the class by creating a tri-fold brochure that captures her interest. Pretending that the class fully understands cars and is a tough sell when it comes to this technology, you should provide graphical representations on the mechanics of the car and a set of technical specifications that will surely impress her. Of course, a reasonable price tag is always attractive as well as a variety of options such as an electric sunroof, various stereo packages, power accessories and a good variety of exterior/interior colors. Don't forget leather upholstery as an option! How fast can she go from 0 to 60 mph? Good luck!

Students were given the task to prepare a recommendation report of George James as a group. Students must follow directions on handout and prepare a ppt presentation along with a persuasive argument towards their recommendation to be presented to the class.

Students will combine all skills being studied in English 100 to write a definition essay. This essay is standard 5-paragraph form and will have several due dates. A definition essay is writing that explains what a term means. Some terms have definite, concrete meanings, such as glass, book, or tree. Terms such as honesty, honor, or love are abstract and depend more on a person's point of view.

This rubric is to assess the final copy of the students work. Students will apply writing skills learned in class to their article. Article will be an in-depth study of their fellow classmate.

Students will demonstrate their knowledge of paragraph organization by writing a 5-paragraph essay utilizing the writing process of planning, organizing, writing, evaluating and revising. *Note: The first 5 criteria of this rubric have been duplicated from the the Steck-Vaughn GED Essay.
