A rubric for a research project about an country

The presentation will contain information and pictures that the students collected regarding information about World War II. The oral presentation must be aligned with their information and pictures on their posters. In total, the student should have ten facts that will provide their classmates a better understanding of why World War II was fought, who was involved in the War, and what the effects of World War II were on the United States.

Students will be able to identify major causes of The American Revolution and describe the consequences of the revolution through the early national period, including roles of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin.

Student must create a poster and fact sheet about one famous person in American History between 1800 & 1921. Your fact sheet must include 30 facts and a paragraph as to why you chose the person and their historical significance. It is expected that the poster reinforces the paragraph. You can either draw or use pictures. You will give a short presentation on your poster, explaining what you have on it.

Students will develop a powerpoint presentation about a selected Civil War battle. In the powerpoint they need to have at least 7 slides about their selected topic. They also need to provide visual images related to their topic.

You are to choose between one of the 2 options for your final project. This is an individual assignment. Your attendance is required for class. Make sure that you plan accordingly if are going to be absent for a school activity.

Research the approved topic. Submit 2-3 typed pages of publishing the results of your research. Include a Works Cited page with at least 2 sources used researching the paper. These resources should be different than your partners' resources. Paper will be graded on quality of research, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, and relevance of included information. Grade will be based on organization, clarity, use of transitions, appropriate voice, correct citation format, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
