Great War Poster
Create an ORIGINAL poster illustrating American efforts on the "Home Front" that helped make an Allied victory possible. Assignment is TWO different posters covering TWO different subjects covered in Ch. 11 Sec. 3. Original artwork shows more effort, but you are not specifically graded on your art ability. Students must do their own writing - do NOT print words off from the computer. Space and material should be arranged with a minimum of negative space. Must be your ORIGINAL poster.

Timeline - Theodore Roosevelt
Student is to HAND DRAW (NO computer generated) a timeline with scale/legend included with evenly spaced time fragments that shows a minimum of ten important events that occurred in the life or presidency of Theodore Roosevelt. Timeline must have a title, be neat and easily readable. Color always makes it more attractive. Information about TR must be accurate and inserted at the correct time. Student work must be ORIGINAL.

POWER POINT PRESENTATION
Student is to create a power point presentation of 10 - 12 slides (excluding introductory and concluding page) that goes into more depth of some aspect of this time period/era than what was covered in the textbook or class discussion. Slides are to include both historically accurate information and pictures. Student will provide teacher with handout of six slides per page plus teacher/instructional notes with information you will verbally add when the slide is presented. Student must present information & power point presentation to the class. Information must be historically accurate and in depth; student will give appropriate credit to where information was gathered - NO PLAGERISM. Must be STUDENT ORIGINAL.

NEWSPAPER
Student is to create a newspaper of six pages (8 1/2' x 11" - 3 pages both sides or 6 front side only) that includes both informational text and technologically imported pictures reflecting historical stories, cultural issues, and social information appropriate to this era. You must include at least six subject areas (news, cartoons, editorials, obituaries, social events, book/show reviews, business news, sports, advertisements, etc.) in your newspaper. You have literary license to make up appropriate stories and information to fit the situation, but must be historically accurate. Must be STUDENT ORIGINAL.

Historical/Generic Personal Diary
Student is to "write" a diary of a real historical person or a generic person from this time period that reflects accurately the experiences a peron from this time period could/would have experienced. Use knowledge gained from the text and classroom activities to create the diary entries as you think that person would have experienced. If you are a generic person (ex: a cowboy, a sod buster, etc.), you must "cross paths" with a real person discussed in class or the text. You have literary license to make up appropriate and historically accurate experiences. Must be STUDENT ORIGINAL.

IMAGINARY HISTORICAL INTERVIEW
Student is to conduct an imaginary interview (Q & A format) with a historically prominent person from the era studying/time period that reflects their experiences and opinions and how they influenced history. Must be STUDENT ORIGINAL.

Civil War Battle Poster
Research a major US Civil War battle and create a poster explaining that battle. Your poster should cover all the key people and summarize the events in logical order. Poster should contain at least one map of the battle and other key concepts or people. Space and material should be arranged to show organization and be correctly labeled with a minimum of negative space. Must be your ORIGINAL text.

Newspaper Article
Write a newspaper article for the day after the assigned event occurred. Your article should show you understand the event(s) that took place, however you only know what has happened up to today - you do not know how things will eventually turn out. You have "literary license" to make up names of people and their comments for the article, but they must be appropriate for the time & place. You may include a picture/chart to enhance your article, but it is to be a minor part of your article. Remember - "just the facts!" Must be YOUR ORIGINAL WORK.
