Rubric for essays addressed as part of classroom activities

Use this rubric for grading student papers. Can be customized for any subject.

Students engaged in the measurement of various items and distances in the metric system by first engaging in metric estimations followed by exact measurement in the metric system. Students have been assigned 2 5 paragraph essays with body paragraphs consisting of 10-15 sentences. Prompts are on the back of the activity sheet. Students must turn in original sheet with measurement tables completed, 2 essays, short answers to the 2 stride questions, and the definitions completed. Assignment Values: Each Aspect is 1 grade, graded separately.

Students are to research and write a biography on Lewis Latimer. These biographies include information on his early life, what lead him to his career/purpose, what contributions he made to society and the field of science, and 3-5 interesting or unique facts about him or what he did, and the students own reflections about the Lewis Latimer and his contributions. THIS SHEET MUST BE ATTACHED TO THE ESSAY TO RECEIVE FULL CREDIT!

All Grades: Warm up rubrics Note that all warmups are averaged together in the final grade. Warmups count 10% of the total grade for the class.
