Students are to work co-operatively to plan, prepare and present a display on their chosen author's book series. Each student is required to read at least one book from the series and prepare a book review. English Reading Objectives: RS3.5 Reads independently an extensive range of texts with increasing content demands and responds to themes and issues. RS3.7 Critically analyses techniques used by writers to create certain effects, to use language creatively, to position the reader in various ways and to construct different interpretations of experience.

Create a board game that reflects aspects of the entire novel. Include at least 25 questions with answers. Your board game can be based on one that is already in existence such as Monopoly or Trivial Pursuit.

Students can earn from 0-10 points per class based on their behavior during class. For grades K-5 the class participation/behavior grade is the student's grade in Computer Class. For Middle School, the class participation/behavior grade is 50% of the grade in Computer Class.

Students will read a fiction book. After reading, they will create a character can to display in the library and present to the class. Using a can (Pringles, coffee, etc..), students will decorate the can to look like their character, making sure to show distinguishing features (hair color, noted accessories, glasses, etc). Inside the students will place things relevant to the character. These items will be pulled out, shown, and explained during their presentation. Also inside the can will be 5 index cards, each with a description of the character, setting, conflict, resolution, and the students opinion about the book, if they would recommend it and if so, to who. The assignment will be graded using the following rubric. The due date for the project is March 10th.
