Character analysis project

Wordless storyboard created to capture the main idea for each chapter and used for oral presentation in class.

Students will present a 3-5 minute reading of a children’s book. The book will be appropriate for children age 4-7. Students will give a short (15 second) introduction to the book. Students will read fluently and clearly. Their voice will demonstrate appropriate volume as well as voice animation and variance of inflection, pitch, and tone.

Chapter Summaries Summarize the chapter reading and explain how you could apply what was learn from the reading when working with clients on career planning

Students will read weekly chapter assignments and complete a three to five sentence summary for each chapter. They will also complete the main idea for each chapter read. The goal of this rubric is to obtain a better understanding of how to write a great summary and locate the main idea within a chapter, while using prior knowledge and textual features to indentify unknown or vocabulary words.

Students chose a book they've read independently to review. The review incorporates information about the book's characters, setting, plot, genre, theme, and writing style. These reviews were uploaded to our school's Destiny online library catalog.
