A Great Person
This project utilzes Microsoft Word. The assignment is to create a 350-450 word document on an individual who has made an impact on history. The selected individual could be an African American, woman, Hispanic, historian, or athlete. The document will include APA writing techniques (margins, paragraph spacing, proper alignment, Bibliography/Citations). The document will include an introductory paragraph, place of birth, family, education, awards, experience & training and a conclusion.

Who Is Your Favorite Star/Artist
You are to research your favorite artist, star or athlete. Using MLA writing techniques, write an essay with a minimum of 600 words and no more than 700 words. The paper format will include a cover page (no pictures), an introductory paragraph, conclusion and bibliography page. The structure of the paper will include transitional words and at least four additional paragraphs. The paper content must inlcude place of birth, where he/she grew up, family, education (early, high school, college), major life changes (death, drugs, jail, street life, etc.), how he/she entered this lifestyle, first experience (award, recording, song, game, acting job), additional experiences (successes/failures), further growth/opportunities and what they are doing now.

Current Issues
The students will use the Internet to research current issues effecting the world (i.e. gas prices, education, taxes, war, etc.). Each student will obtain 5 facts and add 3 of their personal opinions regarding the selected topics. Using Images from the Internet, MS Word and Wordart, the student will create a flyer(s) related to the selected issue. They will copy and paste 2 pictures and use bullets to label their facts/opinions. The flyers will be printed and submitted for a grade.

Fast Food Fun
Use skills and techniques aquired from MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Internet research to find and discuss the calories and fat in a typical fast food meal. You are to follow the instructions as listed on a separate sheet. Each part of the project is worth 100 points but will be averaged together to equal one grade.

Current efforts are being made to change some of the issues that are happening in our schools today. Since creating a school where everyone will be friends is not realistic, creating a school where everyone can get along is attainable. All About Me (an Autobiography)
You will use PowerPoint to do an autobiography. You have to create at least 20 but no more than 25 slides. You are to include text and pictures. You can find school appropriate pictures on the Internet of places you have been or of yourself and/or members of your family (perhaps you have a photobucket or a photo album online). You may also bring in pictures to scan or a picture CD. Crossword Puzzle
Choose a person that you would like to learn more about. You have to do research on that person by using Google, Yahoo or Encarta. You may also use a mega search engines like Dogpile or Mamma. As you research, you may copy and paste the information into a Microsoft Word Document for later use. You will use the same techniques used when we created the practice puzzle. This puzzle will be created by using Microsoft Excel.
