About Me	As an RN-educator, ED RN, and a former EMT-I, with degrees in biology and nursing, my goal as a tutor is to help students with undergraduate coursework or certification/licensing exams, i.e. NCLEX-RN, including pre-requisites or prep courses. I blend academic and 'hands-on' aspects, emphasizing theory in preparation for clinical practice.
Teaching Experience	I’ve tutored nursing students since ‘98, EMTs since ‘85. Sole tutor for a BSN program (500+ students) recently tutored ADN program (200 students). Guest instructor elective course, Nurses in Disasters. US Army Reserve: asst. training officer, combat support hospital unit; sergeant in training section, general hospital unit (1000 bed).
Related Experience	I've helped students with disabilities; different learning preferences, e.g. other than reading/ writing; different cultures including Africa, Asia and Europe; those with ESL; career-changers. I've coached many candidates to success on NCLEX-RN or EMT certification, some I coached after several failures.

Notes	Fees vary by course/ exam to be tutored; length of session; number of tutees per session; number of sessions. I never charge for the first meeting and assessment of needs. Payment plans can be arranged. Don’t hesitate to discuss fees with me if your resources are very limited.My fees can be negotiated if you receive or qualify for financial aid.
