BADMINTON SKILLS ASSESSMENT RUBRIC
	EXCELLENT 5 pts	GOOD 3 pts	POOR 1 pts
SERVE (Forehand and Backhand)	EXCELLENT Perform the correct mechanics of forehand serve and hit intended spots with high level of accuracy.	GOOD Perform the correct mechanics of forehand serve and hit intended spots with average level of accuracy.	POOR Perform the correct mechanics of forehand serve and hit intended spots with below poor level of accuracy. Less than 25%
STROKE (Forehand and Backhand)	EXCELLENT Demonstrate correct procedure in forehand and backhand stroke, able to return to the opponents court with high level of accuracy and able to hit spots.	GOOD Demonstrate correct procedure in forehand stroke with average level of accuracy .	POOR None accuracy/mishit upon demonstrating forehand and backhand stroke.
DROP SHOT and SMASHING	EXCELLENT Perform the correct mechanics in drop shot, able to return to the opponents court with high level of accuracy and able to hit spots. Demonstrate correct procedure in smashing, able to return to the opponents court with HIGH level of accuracy and able to hit spots.	GOOD Perform the correct mechanics in drop shot with average level of accuracy . Demonstrate correct procedure in smashing with average level of accuracy.	POOR None accuracy/mishit upon demonstrating drop shot OR smash.
SPORTSMANSHIP AND RULES	EXCELLENT Plays by the rules related to the game at all times. Encourages teammates, stays positive and includes others in play.	GOOD Plays by the rules most of the game but lacks in comprehension of the more complex rules of the game. Gets down on self or teammates. Its quiet and does not participate actively in the game	POOR Does not play by rules of the game/is not aware of the game rules. Negative towards teammates. Disrupts the game.
