Credibility and Purpose of Film 10 % Student identifies arguer, the central argument, the credibilty of the arguer, the intended audience, and the intended purpose of the film.	Poor Student has not identifed the audience and has not constructed a clear thesis or central argument	Fair Student has identified the audience and suggested the central argument, but has not convinced the reader of the purpose	Good Student has identified the audience and stated the central argument by giving a thesis with support	Excellent Student has clearly identified the audience and clearly stated the central argument. Filmmaker's purpose is clear to the reader. Student has made significant connections regarding credibility of filmmaker and rhetorical purpose of film.
Analysis of Rhetorical Strategies 30 % Student has chosen a selection of rhetorical strategies to analyze and has given examples from the film. Student can discern which rhetorical strategies relate to ethos, logos, and pathos. Student can identify effectivness of film's rhetoric. Student can also identify potential weaknesses of rhetorical argument.	Poor Student has not succesfully identified the rhetorical strategies employed by the writer. Delivery Skills 10 % Student speaks with the proper tempo and volume. Student is animated and demonstrates confident posture and body language.	Poor Student is hard to understand and does not make much effort to connect with the audience. No evidence of preparation.	Fair Student either races through the speech or reads the cue cards, and occasionally makes eye contact. There is evidence of some preparation.	Good Student maintains a confident presence throughout most of the speech and makes an attempt to connect with the audience, with only an occasional faltering. Student is prepared.	Excellent Student uses a clear voice, gestures and body language when appropriate and maintains eye contact and a sense of connection with the audience. Student is animated and shows a real commitment to the assignment. Student has come fully prepared.
