Hands Correct fulcrum construction. Relaxed soft hands that allow for fluidity in playing.	Superior Playing position is correct and hand & finger position are correct to allow for good technical facility.	Excellent Hand and finger position are good but the grip is too tight or loose for good stick/mallet control.	Good Playing position is good but there are minor errors in hand or finger position.	Developing Some effort is being made to hold the sticks correctly but performance is hindered because finger position is incorrect or sticks are not held at the balance point.
Feet Feet allow for full sound. Heel-up or heel down techniques used.	Superior The playing motion is correct, allowing for good control of the bass drum pedal. Nice full sounds.	Excellent There are some faults in the pattern or direction of the bass drum foot. Some inconsistencies in sound quality.	Good The playing motion is generally correct with only minor errors. Groove The nature of the groove is solid. Any deviations from the groove are in time and do not disrupt the groove in any way.	Superior The student demonstrates the ability to maintain a steady groove.	Excellent The student demonstrates an understanding of keeping a steady groove, with some faults.	Good The student demonstrates inconsistent use or performance of the groove with some attempts to correct mistakes.	Developing The student demonstrates little understanding of keeping a consistent groove.
