Techniques	Exceptional Excellent use of the mediums application and techniques. Strong evidence of problem solving to find the best technique for each part of the landscape.	Average Correct application of the mediums techniques. Evidence of problem solving can be seen in most areas of the landscape.	Good A couple different techniques were used, but not much problem solving can be seen.	Poor Hard to distinguish techniques used throughout the drawing and no problem solving to create details and textures can be seen.
Originality	Exceptional Student created original work but also to much risk in their assignment to come up with something more original.	Average Student created original work but also took some risk with the assignment to come up with something more original.	Good Student copied certain elements but did include a few elements of their own.	Poor Student copied another student or teacher made example entirely or copied a reference photo. No original imagery.
Detail - 3 Grounds	Exceptional Excellent textures, patterns, highlights and shadows throughout. Clear foreground, mid-ground, and background.	Average Student used textures, patterns, highlights and shadows through the majority. Somewhat clear foreground, mid-ground, and background. Poor Student didn't real use textures, patterns, highlights and shadows in artwork. No difference in foreground, mid-ground, and background.
Effort/Time Usage	Exceptional The student put forth extraordinary effort to complete the project well as possible; used class time extremely well. Appears balanced and fully complete.	Average The student put forth the effort required to finish the project; used class time adequately. Appears complete.	Good The student put forth the effort required to finish the project; used class time adequately. Some areas seem incomplete.	Poor The student put forth no effort or the project was not completed; class time was not used well. Unfinished.
