Thickness goes to extremes	Below Basic Weld is cut off in places, not uniform along the weld. Shows bare spots	Total Points
Appearance 100 % Smooth with uniform dense ripples, doesn’t show the bead traveling to fast or slow	Advanced Weld shows a constant speed and uniformity the entire length	Proficient Weld shows a constant speed with some blemishes that are minimal	Basic Weld shows definite areas of speeding up and slowing down. Penetration 100 % Complete without burn through	Advanced Weld penetrates deep into the metal and adds strength and fusion to the edges and depth.
