Instructional Video 
Students will create an instructional video on how to perform something they know how to do well. They must demonstrate using a combination of A-roll and B-roll as well as artistic shots (meet requirement guidelines). Music and sound effects must be included, as well as at least 3 instances of color commentary. All images and narration must be appropriate according to school expectations. ***Projects not turned in by deadline will be docked 10% of the grade received.

Acceptable audio and visual quality but work is still needed. Some audio needs better balance and clarity while some visual images were not as clear or focused as they could have been.

Creativity & Design

Excellent

Excellent sense of design. Effective camera techniques used for the video and pictures. Smooth transitions are appropriate and aid in delivery of the presentation. Music and sound effects are used to create interest.
Good

Good use of graphics and/or other design elements. Some transitions are inappropriately placed. Music and sound effects are used appropriately.
Fair

Minimal use of design elements. Few transitions used. Music and/or sound effects are used but ineffective in creating interest.
Poor

Use of elements detracts from video. Too many or too gaudy graphics; transitions, too many clips, and/or backgrounds. Music and sound effects are either not used or are distracting in how they are used.

Filmmaking shots

The film includes a variety of A-roll and B-roll footage (including interior or exterior establishing shots, close up, extreme close up, over-the-shoulder or glance-object, still shots, graphic, etc. The footage includes artistic shots that add to the cinematography.
Good

The film includes a variety of A-roll and B-roll footage but might be missing 1 requirement. Footage attempts artistic shots but these do not necessarily add to the cinematography.
Fair

The film includes A-roll and B-roll footage but there is not much variety. They may be missing 2 or more types of required footage. There is little attempt at artistic shots, but shots are clear and meaningful to the film.
Poor

The film is missing A-roll OR B-roll footage or might be missing several required types of footage. There is little to no attempt at creating artistic shots OR the shots that are taken are hard to see or do not add meaningful aspects to the film.
Length

Excellent

4-5 minutes in length (information was needed and on pace for the duration)
Good

-30 seconds under or over (not all information needed or paced well at times)
Fair
