Active Participation

Active Participation is not about being the best, it is about trying your best.
Students:
- shows signs of active participation i.e. heavy breathing and sweating
- Works hard in every aspect of the class, the warmup and all activities done in class.

Not meeting Expectations

The student is showing no effort in class.
Beginning to Meet Expections

The student puts very little effort into the class. The student needs to be asked more three or four times to actively participate.
Starting to Meet Expectations

The student is showing signs of active participation. However, the student still needs to be reminded one or two times to actively participate.
Meeting Expectations

The student actively participates in class without needing to be asked.
Exceeding Expectations

The student actively participates in class at all times. The student also shows great leadership qualities in class by encouraging others, helping them, and being a positive influence on others.This is done in a positive way!
Safety

Safety is following the rules of the gym and the instructions for all activities done in each class.
Students:
- Follow the rules of the gym.
- Listens to the instructions for activities and tries to follow the instructions.
- Uses the equipment in the proper way.
- Helps set up and put away the equipment when asked.

Not meeting Expectations

The student does not follow the rules of the gym and/or does not listen to the instructions. Creating an unsafe environment for all students in the gym.
Beginning to Meet Expections

The student needs to be reminded three or times to either listen to instructions, follow the rules of the gym, and/or use the equipment properly.
Starting to Meet Expectations

The student needs a reminder or two to either listen to instructions, follow the rules of the gym, and/or use the equipment properly.
Meeting Expectations

The student follows the rules of the gym, listens to instructions, follows the instructions, uses the equipment properly, and follows all of the safety guidelines of the gym and activities done in class.
Exceeding Expectations

The students does all of the things that they should do in class, and they also show great leadership qualities by helping others follow the rules and instructions, and helping to keep everyone safe in class. This is all done in a positive way!
